All Time Favorite Movies and Series

This is not a ranked list, and it is definitely not a serious film critic list. These are simply the movies and series I keep recommending to friends, or the ones that stayed with me long after I watched them.

My taste keeps changing, so I will probably keep updating this page. Some of these are here because they are beautifully made. Some are here because they are clever. Some are here because they made me feel something at the right time.

Movies I Keep Recommending

  • The Shawshank Redemption — still one of the most satisfying stories about hope, patience and friendship.
  • Forrest Gump — simple on the surface, but emotionally very hard to forget.
  • Interstellar — science fiction, emotion, music and scale working together beautifully.
  • The Dark Knight — one of the rare superhero films that feels like a crime drama first.
  • 12 Angry Men — proof that a film does not need visual spectacle to be gripping.
  • Taare Zameen Par — especially meaningful if you work around children, learning difficulties, or parents who only see marksheets.
  • 3 Idiots — imperfect, but still close to anyone who has lived inside exam pressure.
  • Drishyam — one of the best Indian thrillers for pure storytelling and tension.

Series Worth Your Time

  • Breaking Bad — slow, patient, and one of the best examples of character transformation.
  • Better Call Saul — quieter than Breaking Bad, but sometimes even better written.
  • Chernobyl — terrifying because it feels clinical, bureaucratic and real.
  • House M.D. — not realistic medicine every time, but still fun for medical students and doctors.
  • Dark — complicated, atmospheric and rewarding if you enjoy puzzles.
  • Sherlock — stylish, fast, and still very rewatchable in parts.

Why I Like Lists Like This

Movies and series become small markers of time. You remember who suggested them, where you watched them, what phase of life you were in, and sometimes even what you were avoiding by watching them.

For me, the best films are not always the most technically perfect ones. They are the ones that make me pause, think, laugh, feel uncomfortable, or look at people differently afterward.

I will keep adding to this list as I remember more.
